READY! SET! TAG – You’re IT!
#1: Ice Cream Tag (K-5)
ICE CREAM TAG: In this striking and balance game, students use cones and balls to make “ice cream cones.”
Then they run around and balance their ball on their cone and taggers work together to knock the balls off of the cones and collect coins.

How to Play: ICE CREAM TAG
#2: Farmer Tag (K-5)
FARMER TAG: Students will have a blast running around pretending to be “farmers” trying to catch their animals that got loose and escaped the barn.
The “farm animals” will have fun escaping into a land of dramatic play, pretending to become their favorite farm animal, while practicing key locomotor skills and trying their hardest not to get caught by the farmers.

How to Play: FARMER TAG
#3: Chain Tag (Grades 2-12)
CHAIN TAG: This is such a fun tag game – you’re students will absolutely love it. It’s also a great cardiovascular warm-up game too.

How to Play- CHAIN TAG
To play this super fun game:
- FIRST, choose two students to start the chain and have them link arms or hold hands.
- NEXT, give them each a pool noodle to tag with.the
- THEN, the rest of the class runs around trying not to get tagged by the CHAIN.
- FINALLY, if someone gets tagged, they must join the chain at the end taking the pool noodle from the person who tagged you!
- *Play until you have one person left – THE WINNER!
#4: Strike a Pose Tag (K-5)
STRIKE A POSE TAG: This ultimate physical education game combines fast-paced tag with creative movement!

In this fun tag game, kids run around the gym, and when tagged, they must freeze in a silly or dramatic pose.
To get back in the action, another student has to stand near them, copy their pose and hold it for three seconds—making teamwork and laughter all part of the game.
How to Play: STRIKE A POSE TAG
#5: Balloon Tag (Grades 4-12)
BALLOON TAG: Using some string, tie balloons to the shoe laces of the kids. Then let them play tag trying to pop the other balloons of their friends with their feet.

Whoever is left with an unpopped balloon tied to their foot – WINS!
This game can be played as an individual tag game, however, I think it is really fun to play with teams, as shown in the video below.

#6: Sweet Dreams Tag (K-5)
SWEET DREAMS TAG – Sleep taggers begin chasing students, trying to tag them with their “SLEEP WAND.”
If a student gets tagged, they must head to one of the mats (beds) and lay down and pretend to fall asleep.
This is one of the K-5 PE Games that the kids always beg to play over and over again.

How to Play: SWEET DREAMS
#7: Math Tag (K-5)
MATH TAG – This awesome game blends movement with math skills! In this energetic tag game, kids dash around trying not to get tagged, but when they do, they head to a hula hoop, roll two dice, and solve a math problem before jumping back into the action.
With every round, students boost their math confidence, stay physically active, and have a blast—all while reinforcing essential classroom skills in a fun, interactive way.

#8: Turtle Tag (K-5)
TURTLE TAG – In this warm-up tag game the students with the pool noodles are the taggers and they are running around trying to tag the TURTLES. If a turtle gets tagged, he/she must lay down on his/her back with their hands and feet flailing in the air, like a turtle on its back.
A turtle can be saved if another turtle comes by, grabs both of their hands and pulls them back up and into the game. If a turtle needs a break, he/she can go INTO THEIR SHELL. If a turtle is in their shell they are safe and can’t be tagged by a turtle tagger.

#9: Ice Skating Tag (K-5)
ICE SKATING TAG: This unique winter-themed PE game simulates ice skating indoors. It focuses on developing sliding skills, evasion techniques, and cardiovascular fitness.
#10: Snack Attack Tag (K-5)
SNACK ATTACK TAG – Hungry Monsters (taggers) try to tag the other students with the snacks (bean bags).
If a student gets tagged, they must give the monster one snack/bean bag.
The monster then takes the “snack” back to his/her house and drops it inside the hula hoop where it is now safe and cannot be stolen.

#11: Hot Potato Tag (K-5)
HOT POTATO TAG – Partners stand across from each other and play catch while the teacher plays music.
When the music stops, whoever has possession of the ball is the tagger.
