Hi there, it’s so great to meet you! I’m Mrs. T. (or you can call me Jen) – a Michigan mom, wife, new grandma (aka “Jemma”) and K-12 PE teacher who has also taught Kindergarten, 3rd, and 6th grades.
I love teaching PE class because I get to spend time telling silly SPORTS JOKES and exercising, while laughing with my students.

Letter A Fitness Vocabulary Words
- 🎯ACCURACY – Hitting the target or doing a skill correctly. Accuracy means you can aim carefully and make a good try.
- 🏃♀️ACTIVE – Moving your body and not sitting still. Being active helps your body stay strong and healthy.
- 🫁AEROBIC – A kind of exercise that makes your heart and lungs work harder. Aerobic activities are things like running, dancing, and jumping.
- 🏃➡️AGILITY – Moving quickly and easily. Agility helps you change direction fast during games.
Letter B Fitness Vocabulary Words
- ⚖️BALANCE – Staying steady without falling. Balance helps you stand, walk, and move in control.
- 🔸BASE – A safe place you try to reach in a game. In many games, a base keeps you from being tagged out.
- ⚾BASEBALL – A game where two teams try to score runs by hitting a ball with a bat and running around four bases. The team with the most runs at the end of the game wins.
- 🏀BASKETBALL – A game where players dribble, pass, and shoot a ball into a hoop. The team with the most points wins.
- 🎳BOWLING – A game where you roll a ball down a lane to try to knock down as many pins as you can. It is a fun indoor game that people of almost any age can play.
- 🖽BOUNDARY – A line that shows where a game area ends. Staying inside the boundary keeps the game fair and safe.
Letter C Fitness Vocabulary Words
- 🫀CARDIOVASCULAR – Something that helps your heart and lungs get stronger. Running games and tag games are cardiovascular activities.
- 🫴🏽CATCH – To stop a ball or object with your hands. Catching takes good eyes, hands, and timing.
- 🏆CHALLENGE – A task that asks you to try your best. A challenge helps you learn and improve.
- 🏃🏻♂️➡️CHASE – To run after someone or something. Many tag games include chasing.
- 👨👩COACH – A person who teaches, supports, and helps players improve. Coaches help teams practice and learn skills.
- 🧘♀️COORDINATION – Using your body parts together smoothly. Coordination helps you throw, catch, kick, and jump.
- 🪭COOL-DOWN – Easy movement after exercise. Cool-down time helps your body slow down safely.
Letter D Fitness Vocabulary Words
- 🔒DEFENSE – The part of a game where players try to stop the other team from scoring. It means protecting your goal, your team, or your space.
- 🏐DIG – In games and sports, dig means to quickly get low and stop a ball, like a volleyball, from hitting the ground.
- 🤿DIVE – To jump or go quickly into water, usually headfirst. In sports and games, it can also mean moving down fast or reaching for something quickly.
- ⛹️♀️DRIBBLE – To bounce or tap a ball while moving. Dribbling is used in basketball (hands) and soccer (feet).
- 🏀DUNK – When a basketball player jumps up and pushes the ball down through the hoop with one or both hands. It’s an exciting play that often makes the crowd cheer really loud!

- 🚵♀️ENDURANCE – The ability to keep going for a long time. Endurance helps you stay active without getting tired too quickly.
- 🏸EQUIPMENT – The tools and gear people use to play sports and exercise, like balls, bats, cones, rackets or jump ropes. Equipment helps players practice skills, stay safe, and have fun during games.
- 🏄♂️EXERCISE – Movement that helps your body stay healthy and strong. Exercise can be fun games, sports, or workouts.
Letter F Fitness Vocabulary Words
- 🏋️♂️FITNESS – Being healthy, strong, and ready to move. Fitness helps your body do physical activities well.
- 🦵FLEXIBILITY – The ability to stretch and bend easily. Flexible bodies can move in more ways.
- 🏈FOOTBALL – A game where two teams try to move the ball down the field and score points by getting it into the end zone or through the goal. Players work together, run fast, and try to stop the other team from scoring.
Letter G Fitness Vocabulary Words

- 🐎GALLOP – A movement where one foot steps forward and the other foot quickly follows behind, like a horse moving. Kids use galloping to practice balance, coordination, and moving in fun ways.
- 🥇GOAT (or G.O.A.T.) – This stands for “Greatest of All Time,” and it is used to describe an athlete who is considered the VERY BEST in their sport.
Letter H Fitness Vocabulary Words
- 🥗HEALTH – Feeling good in your body and mind. Exercise, sleep, water, and food all help you stay healthy.
- 💓HEARTBEAT – The beat you feel in your chest when your heart pumps blood. It often gets faster during exercise.
- 🏃♀️➡️HURDLE – A small obstacle you step or jump over. Hurdles are used in races and movement games.
- 💦HYDRATE – To drink water or other healthy fluids to help your body stay cool and strong during exercise and sports.
Letter I Fitness Vocabulary Words
- 🥵INTENSITY – How hard your body is working during exercise, sports, or physical activities. A high-intensity activity makes your heart beat faster and can make you breathe harder and sweat more.
